The Remission EP
The canadian electro-industrial band Skinny Puppy is credited with the first notable release created with a TR-909: the Remission EP, recorded during the summer of 1984 and released in December the same year.
But they were just the first.
In 2016, Mixmag listed these classics as the nine best songs created with the 909 (in chronological order):
Can You Feel It
“Can You Feel It” (1986) by Larry Heard, AKA Mr. Fingers. One of the first and most influential deep house tracks.
Larry created the track with a TR-909, a Juno-60 synth two cassette decks.
Strings of Life
Strings of Life (1986) by Rhythim Is Rhythim AKA Derrick May and Michael James.
